This series of paintings examines the process of transitioning into maturity, using the metaphor of the end of childhood.
The works depict children in repose or stillness, framed by wreaths of roses and lilies—elements commonly used in funeral rites. The inclusion of these wreaths is not intended to evoke tragedy; rather, it serves as a visual device to signal the conclusion of a phase. They present growth as a definitive shift in which childhood is left behind to embrace adulthood.
Thus, the work suggests that this transition is unavoidable: childhood inevitably comes to an end, and at some point, one must mourn the passing of that stage of life.
Esta serie de pinturas examina el proceso de transición hacia la madurez utilizando la metáfora del fin de la infancia.
Las obras muestran a niños en reposo o quietud, enmarcados por coronas de rosas y lirios, elementos que suelen emplearse en rituales funerarios. La inclusión de estas coronas no busca un efecto trágico, sino que funciona como un recurso gráfico para señalar el cierre de una etapa. Plantean el crecimiento como un cambio definitivo en el que se deja atrás la niñez para asumir la adultez.
De este modo, se plantea que este tránsito no se puede evitar, la niñez se termina inevitablemente y en algún punto es necesario hacer el duelo de una etapa de la vida.
